In this study space, we’ll use the Pomodoro method to focus, take short breaks, and repeat. Learners can work on any subject while studying alongside others for motivation, accountability, and a calm, respectful environment.

This session will walk students through the real process of reaching out for research opportunities. I’ll cover how to find researchers and labs, how to quickly learn about their work, and how to decide who to contact. We’ll talk about what to do before sending an email, what to include in a cold email, and what to do after you hit send. I’ll also share some blunt truths about cold emailing, what tends to work, and what often doesn’t. Learners can expect a practical, discussion-based session with examples and time for questions.

This discussion session is designed to create an open and respectful space for students to explore important global issues such as gender bias, world hunger, inequality, climate change, and human rights. The goal is not only to stay informed about current world issues, but also to encourage participants to think from different perspectives and engage in meaningful dialogue. Discussing global issues helps students develop critical thinking, empathy, and the ability to analyze real-world problems. As scientist Carl Sagan emphasized, critical thinking is essential for navigating any generation, whether in the past, present, or future. Through guided discussions, students will be encouraged to question assumptions, listen actively, and express their ideas thoughtfully. This session aims to help students become more aware, open-minded, and confident in discussing complex global challenges in a respectful and collaborative environment.

We’ll study in 25-minute focused intervals with 5-minute breaks, tackle homework, prepare for exams, and work on projects together. We’ll cover the basics of ratios and rates, work through the Khan Academy unit test on the topic, and revisit any subtopics as needed ; adjusting the pace and explanations to match each learner’s understanding.
