You did an excellent job of adapting the session to Kyle's needs. When he mentioned that he had already covered limits and special trigonometric limits, you didn't just stick to your plan. Instead, you pivoted the session to focus on the Intermediate Value Theorem, a topic he hadn't yet covered. This shows great flexibility and a genuine desire to meet the student where they are. Your later follow-up question about his understanding of continuity also shows you are trying to find the gaps in his knowledge.

The lesson was great.

By saying things like "You are doing good so far" encouraged and boosted the learner's confidence. She gives the learner harder problems when the learner does good and understands a topic. She actively makes sure the learner is understanding a concept, thus creating an overall positive learning environment. Thus, the leaner themselves exhibited a growth during the lesson.

What worked well was that the tutor wrote the notes as if an actual teacher wrote the notes, and this format helps the learners feel as if they are in a classroom. The tutor has an extensive idea about AP Calculus and the exam in general. She uses references from when she actually took the AP exam and gave tips. She also handwrites her works which helps too. Her clear voice also proves she knows the material well.

The environment you created was very comfortable. You were friendly, patient, and encouraging, which likely made Kyle feel at ease. Your positive reinforcement, such as saying "Perfect" and "Good job," was well-used. You also built a nice rapport with him by acknowledging his great questions and letting him know that it's okay if he's confused.

When a learner solved a problem, the tutor explained in easier terms to adapt to the learner's calc level. Also, when the learner is going towards the direction of solving, she encourages the Learner to come to the answer themselves, through going back to previously learner topics.

Encourages learners to unmute if they have any questions. Gives learners practice problems and tells them to solve it. Also asks learners to tell how they came up with a particular answer. Asking the learners "What do you think we should do here", the tutor encouraged learner's thinking.
