You were very observant in identifying when learners struggled, such as noticing hesitation in understanding graph transformations or the alternation of signs on the number line. You adjusted your explanations by providing additional visual examples, analogies, and step-by-step reasoning to cater to individual needs. Your flexibility in rephrasing explanations and breaking down complex problems was excellent. One area to improve is giving targeted practice problems immediately after noticing confusion, so learners can apply the concept right away instead of waiting until later. Overall, your responsiveness and adaptability made the session effective for diverse learning paces.

When the student asked " wait, but why should we plug the equations into desmos?", the tutor explained that though the learners may be to do this without using desmos for now, for longer or more complex problems, desmos would be more convenient. To gauge the understanding of learners, the tutor frequently asks the learners if they have understood how they derived at the answer.

I love the way she explains

You were extremely well-prepared to run the session smoothly, with all necessary materials ready, including official Digital SAT problems, graphs, and examples. You demonstrated a deep understanding of the material, explaining concepts like warm-up arithmetic problems (24*4), translating graphs up and down, and the behavior of (y+4) in bracket notation clearly. Your explanation of number line sign analysis, including how odd and even powers affect the intervals and how to determine when expressions are positive or negative, was precise and easy to follow. The use of visual aids, analogies, and step-by-step reasoning helped learners grasp challenging concepts quickly. One suggestion is to occasionally pause and ask learners to predict outcomes before explaining fully—this would actively involve them more and reinforce understanding. Overall, your foundation-setting was strong and clear.

When the students explain their thoughts, the tutor makes sure to validate their thoughts, even though they may not necessarily be correct. By doing this, it creates a more comfortable environment for the learners in which they are more likely to share.

Interactive and so kind

Thankyou for the time you spare to teach us the basics, I can start to see the use of desmos on basic math question.
