Reading and Writing for the September 2025 SAT®

Saturdays 5:00 PM, Sundays 5:00 PM

Hi, my name is Dominique! I have always been passionate about helping others, and I’m excited to guide you all to your goal scores in our short time together. This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

There were some technical difficulties, especially in the beginning. You were very thorough in your explanations; I liked that you encouraged your learner to identify relationships between sentences.

They were really specific in their reasoning for the correct answer in question about using the correct word for "their". There are not many opportunities to represent reading problems with visuals, so I won't judge that. The strategy to solve pronoun-antecedent agreement problems was great. It gave a good algorithmic style of problem-solving where you go into a step-by-step solution of checking if they word is plural with the letter "S" at the end, then one must check the rest of the sentence to confirm that they aren't missing context. After that is complete, the answer should come from deduction skills. This cleared up the learner's question and gave a good foundation of identifying the problem and developing a solution. It was also good to address the common mistakes that might trick the learner on a question.
