4 Series

Study Space

    Ended Tue, Sep 28, 2021

The sessions will be kept silent (no mic). Turning on the camera is highly encouraged. There will be a pomodoro timer (50 minute studying and 10 minute break time) on the screen. The hours of the sessions will probably range from 6-11 pm PDT on weekdays and 12-9 pm PDT on weekends. Discussions through public chat are encouraged. You can ask other learners for help. However, please do not have conversations unrelated to studying so that we can create an environment with a minimal distraction. You can message privately for help in math subjects (Pre-algebra to Calculus 2) though it may take me some time to see the chat. I will try to answer your question ASAP. If you'd like, you can add the goal of the day and the steps in order in the Jamboard. The link will be in the group chat. Any learner that creates disruption by purposefully turning on the mic or does not follow the Schoolhouse.world regulations will be removed from the session promptly after one warning.

AP Physics 1 Camp

    Ended Sun, Aug 22, 2021

Hello! I am Eunsang. You can also call me Rachel. This series will be about mechanical physics: algebra-based (AP Physics 1). and the topics will flow in this order: - one-dimensional motion - two-dimensional motion - forces and Newton's laws of motion - uniform circular motion and gravitation - work and energy - linear momentum and collisions The session will be slow-paced for those learning physics for the first time. During the session, we will be doing virtual labs, textbook questions, and previous AP test questions. The used slides will be given after the session, so there is no need to take screenshots. If there is a fill-in note, I suggest that you print the homework out before the session or use the computer to write notes on them during the session. It will be provided beforehand in the group chat. Participation matters a lot in these sessions. There is no need to turn on the camera or mic. However, please try to solve the problems and ask questions if you are stuck. If you are shy, you can use the private chat to check your answers or ask questions ;). I will be calling out your names to ask what you have gotten for the answers and how you solved it. If you want to review a certain topic because you are confused or just want to practice, you can message me and request a catch-up session after joining the office hour. (Please give me at least 24 hours to reply.) Don't forget to send me your availability of time and hours. The starting time of each session will be the same (at most two hours per session and 30 minute break in between if there are two per day), and each topic will be introduced every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (except 8/11 & 8/13), *The office-hour session closes in 15 minutes if no one shows up* I hope to see you there!
