About

Hello there! I'm a philosophy/natural sciences/classics (triple!) major and pre-law hopeful from the US. I'm currently a sophomore at St. John's College, unique for it's Great Books program, and I'd be happy to talk about it if you're interested in what it entails.

In my free time I enjoy writing, playing double bass in my college's String Ensemble, and spending time with friends and family, including my two adorable dogs, Bella and Athena.

Reading and Writing for the March 2026 SAT

Wednesdays 12:45 AM, Thursdays 12:45 AM

Hi all, I'm Jane. I am a current college sophomore—philosophy, classics, and comp lit major—and I look forward to helping you succeed on the English Section of the SAT! As a student at St. John's College in Annapolis, MD, I believe that a collaborative, discussion-based approach to education works best, so I expect you all to arrive ready to read, learn, and participate, with cameras on! (Debates about the correctness of the Oxford Comma in the sentence above are also encouraged!) This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing with me and a small group of other learners. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs (Be warned: I will be looking for the most difficult questions, so as to pose you with a challenge).

Thanks for the informative session

Although this was a short session, you were able to accomplish your goal. You wanted to review the learner's first paragraph, which you did correctly. I loved how you were involved in the essay and asked for the essay's instructions. You provided grammar tips, mainly about apostrophes. Your learner wanted you to focus on her thesis statement, which you reviewed and approved! Since this is a reading/writing session, unlike math, there isn't much to teach, particularly in this session. But, I can see you are thorough with writing essays and grammar.
