  • Live now!
  • Started

This series will cover Units 1-4 of AP Chemistry and is designed to help students master the foundational concepts of the course. Whether you are preparing for an exam or are seeking to reinforce your understanding, this review can help you learn the essential topics! Each session includes an introduction, comprehensive explanations of all required concepts, and example problems to help students build their knowledge and apply it. Learners will have the opportunity to clear their doubts, discuss topics with their peers, and complete practice questions that resemble the actual exam. There is no prior knowledge required and anyone is welcome to join, but the topics covered will specifically be from Units 1-4 of the College Board's AP Chemistry curriculum.

Crash Course: AP History Writing

    5th session

This series will break down the three complicated AP History writing tasks—the SAQ, DBQ, and LEQ—into simple, manageable steps to help you write with confidence in both your AP History class and on the AP Exam in May. We’ll cover the rubrics for each task, examine real high-scoring examples, and go over a concise structure that will help you earn all the possible points. You’ll also get the chance to try writing SAQs and parts of the DBQ and LEQ with real-time feedback from the tutor. You can even bring in essays you've already written for direct guidance on how to improve. Most sessions will begin with an introduction and then dive into one of the writing tasks—explaining rubrics, showing examples, and reviewing proven strategies. Toward the end, you’ll get time to practice writing and ask any questions during a Q&A. Additional sessions in this series will include separate Q&A sessions for feedback and writing sessions where learners can attempt full DBQs or LEQs based on what they’ve learned. This series is perfect for first-timers just getting to know the writing tasks, as well as students looking to refine their technique and earn every point possible. Tutor Qualifications: I took AP World History this past school year, earned a 5 on the exam, and an A+ in the class both semesters. I’ve also given multiple students at my school valuable feedback and guidance on their AP History essays.

Variables and Expressions: Introduction and Review

    Ended Sun, Mar 24, 2024

I will introduce the concept of variables and algebraic expressions. We will have three sessions and cover the concepts in Unit 6 of Khan Academy's Pre-Algebra course. The topics covered are variables, parts of algebraic expressions, evaluating expressions, writing algebraic expressions, the distributive property, combining like terms, and equivalent expressions. Each session will be one hour long. They will consist of introductions, a recap of the previous session, a short lesson, completing practice questions together, completing a Khan Academy quiz, and ending with time for questions. The first session will also include orientation and testing prior knowledge. In the last session, we will cover concepts and also review everything and test knowledge. There will also be an optional office hours session after the second session. The only prior knowledge required is knowledge of arithmetic. Learners should be prepared to dive into these concepts of Pre-Algebra. This series could serve as an introduction to the topics but also as a review for other learners. Please have a pencil/pen and paper with you at every session. Having a notebook or few sheets to write notes and example questions is recommended over simply scratch paper. If the timings do not work for you, feel free to request a change in time. I have an open schedule and want to accommodate all learners. I hope to see you in the sessions!
