My tutor is kind, patient, and thoughtful. She is willing to help us and cares us succeed. She spend time giving us feedback and answering questions. I'm really grateful for her time and help.

You're introduction and the first 20 minutes of the session really set the tone for the entire session, so even though the main segment of the session wasn't super interactive, the warmth from the beginning still seeped through. Asking how they were feeling about the process really made the entire session more personal and comfortable.

The tutor spent time reading some materials I'm putting on for the common app and gave me feedback. It was great and productive.

Thanks! Your explanations are the best

You did a great job using their names throughout and being conversational with them throughout the Office Hours! For future sessions, focusing on keeping a more encouraging and optimistic tone can go a long way in terms of boosting your learners' confidence!

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

Many of your learners seems to have grasped the concepts better and made progress in that regard by the end, though I think more time dedicated to explanations and talking about solutions after everyone has their answers (especially if some got it wrong) can be all the more crucial to having learners make progress.

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

N/A for strengthing learners' confidence as none of the learners completed practice problems independently during the session. You managed to create a welcoming and friendly learning environment. The icebreakers you incorporated were particularly effective in establishing a sense of comfort and camaraderie among the learners. Your effort to build this kind of atmosphere enhances the overall learning experience and fosters positive interaction between you and the students.

You do a great job of conveying information in a clear and understandable manner, and your use of unique visuals to explain concepts is highly effective. The way you used drawings and images to explain triangle similarity, for instance, was very well done. Building on your already advanced understanding of the material, one suggestion to enhance your sessions further would be to delve deeper into explaining the underlying concepts. For instance, when discussing Pythagorean triples, consider going into more depth by highlighting common attributes of these triples, how to identify them, and why they are considered triples. This additional layer of insight could further enrich the learners' understanding of the topic. Keep up the excellent work!

Thank you so much for the session! This was very helpful and explanations were amazing! Also, very interactive!

Alexia first off started her class introducing herself to all of us and while we waited for more people to join, we got to know one another even better and even interact with one another which was great! Then, we proceeded to go over the basics of geometry and trigonometry. At some points in the lesson, some people needed a more clearer explanation and Alexia didn't get frustrated but instead proceeded to explain in even more detail than before. Also, i liked how us as a group were able to learn a lot from her. She even shared her experience with taking the SAT and proceeded to give us advice if we were a junior or uprising junior which was very helpful and encouraging to my ears. Even Alexia learned from us at some points since there were other ways to solve the problems given to us. I would rate this a 1000/10 class and I would definitely join again! - Jem

Amazing! When you helped Britney with her division problem, you did an excellent job of making division accessible. You used a great analogy of dividing cookies among friends and explained why and how long division works very well. Also, you made sure not to work directly on Britney's homework. Overall, great job!

Thank you for today

The reflection step shows that the learners made progress by having a better grasp on their own college application. Additionally, their questions are building off of knowledge learnt earlier in the session, which is a good sign that they are making progress and learning new things.

Great explanations!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

You did very well conveying the information needed and the process of dissecting these SAT questions in order to solve them. I loved your use of visuals as well, especially in that statistics problem. I would suggest for next time to potentially spend more time on the nuances of the problems and concepts they'll encounter. In what ways might this concept also be asked on the SAT? Are there any comparisons or analogies we can draw with other topics?

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

You did a great job helping out with your learners' individual queries, and were actively providing them whatever they needed to grasp the content. Providing them supplemental problems and examples were really clear examples of such. I would say to go even further in this aspect, I would hyper-emphasize and gauge what *exactly* the learner may want to learn about or get more guidance. Is it the whole concept in general? Or maybe is it just a certain aspect? Or maybe it's just a quick clarification on something>

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

I wasn't able to determine if you checked the learners' knowledge beforehand, and if you did so in a previous session of the series, I apologize for any misunderstanding. I marked N/A for adapting to learners' unique needs because of the large class size of over 40 students, making it challenging to cater to each individual's needs. Overall, your session was well-executed. One suggestion I have is to consider having learners attempt some of the practice problems before you provide explanations. This approach could help you gauge whether they have already learned the topics and possess a solid understanding of the material you covered. This way, you can tailor your explanations to address specific areas of confusion or misconceptions. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for helping!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

When you started your session, you asked how well Britney understood long division. Then, you addressed her misconceptions in the lesson. This is perfect. I also noticed that you used multiple analogies and various problems so that Britney deeply understood the concept. Keep doing this! One thing you can improve upon is to let the learner solve the problem while you guide them. In this session, you were solving the practice problems while Britney helped you. By letting the learner take the lead, you simulate how they would solve the problem by themselves, which allows you to find any weaknesses and address them.
