Excellent tutor

Learner · 6 days ago

The tutor explained the topics in an easy-to-understand way, using examples and teaching us tricks and ways to remember. He is so great at teaching. My next session with him will help me even more!

It was extremely helpful, and when I wasn’t sure how to do the example, he was patient and explained it in detail, step by step, on how to find the answer!

The tutor continuously engaged the student by checking in frequently, asking directly, "What would you like to get started with?" and "Do you know...?" He consistently encouraged the student to explain their thinking, specifically by saying, "how about you walk me through where you are currently?" when starting the first problem, and later, "how about you walk me through how you did the A part?" for the second question. This approach allowed the student to drive the pace and demonstrate their existing knowledge. What worked well was using open-ended questions like, "Would you like to solve to see what the angle there would be?" to prompt the student toward the next step. To improve, the tutor could try to weave in more frequent, small prompts to explain thinking during the diagram drawing phase, rather than just at the beginning of the problem. Other than that, the tutor did really well. There was no other noticeable or major issues.
