The tutor continuously engaged the student by checking in frequently, asking directly, "What would you like to get started with?" and "Do you know...?" He consistently encouraged the student to explain their thinking, specifically by saying, "how about you walk me through where you are currently?" when starting the first problem, and later, "how about you walk me through how you did the A part?" for the second question. This approach allowed the student to drive the pace and demonstrate their existing knowledge. What worked well was using open-ended questions like, "Would you like to solve to see what the angle there would be?" to prompt the student toward the next step. To improve, the tutor could try to weave in more frequent, small prompts to explain thinking during the diagram drawing phase, rather than just at the beginning of the problem. Other than that, the tutor did really well. There was no other noticeable or major issues.

thank you you are a great teacher

The tutor effectively used the whiteboard visuals to help the student set up the diagrams, which was the main confusion point. He provided clear, content-specific guidance by illustrating that the segment length conditions (AP=CP, BP=DP) could be met by different intersecting shapes in the first problem. For the second problem, his explicit suggestion to use Side-Angle-Side (SAS) congruence and look for vertical angles was exactly what the student needed to move forward with the proof. The breakdown for the angle problem was clear and logical. To improve, a quick, simple sketch of the second angle problem's triangles on the whiteboard would have been beneficial to visually track which angles corresponded to 90. Other than that minor improvement, the tutor taught very well and had no other noticeable issues.
