How it Works

Live math homework and SAT help, every weekday from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM PST.
After signing up for Schoolhouse, your students can request live help for their math homework or SAT prep. Live Help runs every weekday evening (just in time for the next day of school), and is 100% free.

Patient, qualified peer tutors.
Your student will join the next available tutor certified to help in their subject. Over Zoom (camera optional), they'll build confidence with a peer tutor who's been in their shoes–many of our volunteer tutors are high-schoolers themselves!

A commitment to learning–not just giving the answer.
Learning is best through human interaction–not automated tools. Our tutors meet your students where they're at, check for conceptual understand, and break down problems so they can come back to class with a stronger foundation.

Track student progress–in and out of the classroom.
We know that external tutoring services can feel like a black hole. We have teacher-facing tools for you to view your students' attendance and certifications on Schoolhouse. Set up a classroom to get started.

Tutor certification and training
Before tutoring, prospective tutors complete a multi-hour certification and training process that focuses on fostering safe environments for learning.
Monitored and recorded sessions
We record every tutoring session over Zoom, and we have a dedicated team of trained volunteers who regularly peer review recordings for safety and quality.
Community reporting
All community members (both learners and tutors) are given a safe place to report any behavior that violates our Community Guidelines.

“
Peer tutoring can have a very positive impact on both the learner and the tutor. Schoolhouse.world tutors highlighted the opportunity to connect with others around the world and their personal satisfaction when they were able to help their students understand the concepts. Listening to the joy and pride expressed by our student tutors was one of the highlights of my career.”
