How do quadratics appear in upper-level competition math? Are they even useful?
You won't succeed in competition math just from knowing quadratics—but you cannot succeed if you don't know them well. In this lecture, we will explore a wide variety of challenging questions that subtly involve quadratics and the strategies utilized to solve them. You'd be surprised at how many questions involve quadratics! The difficulty of problems ranges from mid-AMC to hard AIME questions. It is based on Titu Andreescu's 105 Algebra Problems.
I've participated in competition math since middle school and made it up to USAMO. I've solved the problems in this lecture and presented them before, so hopefully, you will take away a lot from it.
