I think you did an excellent job with engagement with your learner. This is because you made sure your learner explained their thought process to the problems they struggled and what approaches they took, which is a good idea since then you know how to pivot your explanation using that struggle. Additionally, you made sure your learner was the lead problem-solver with those problems, with you serving as a backbone for support. Both of you were engaging equally.
