Most importantly, the support and environment that you built was a highlight of the session. You shared your personal background as a junior in high school and interests in physics and poetry, which portrayed you as a leader and someone relatable to the students. you also apologized for any mispronunciations of names, showing cultural respect and a willingness to learn the real spelling of their names. This created a more comfortable environment where students felt easier in expressing diverse views, such as Gunay’s defense of nuclear weapons as a stabilizing deterrent. This evidently brought about a content filled discussion and the session was very productive overall.

Raunak, you did very well at ensuring every participant had a voice and remained important to the discussion. HYou specifically called on Siri, Shreyanshi, Gunay, and Abiral by name to ensure no one was left out. When Shubham had tech issues with his microphone, you immediately addressed that concern by encouraging him to use the chat, which kept the engagement high despite the tech issues. Your use of direct questions helped move the conversation through multiple complex topics like the arms race and decolonization.

Raunak, you showed strong situational awareness by adjusting the flow of the session when it became too speech-heavy by incorporating learner responses or prompting new questions to drive a diversity of questions. You acknowledged that the participants might not be prepared with notes and encouraged them to speak from their previous knowledge instead. You also corrected historical misconceptions, such as when you clarified the timeline of Indian independence in relation to the Cold War.
