Bala consistently checked for understanding: “If you can’t hear, type in the chat,” “Do you have any questions?” “Let me annotate this to make it clearer.” They slowed down when explaining the image of The Death of Socrates and repeated key terms. When technology lagged during the video, Bala quickly adapted and provided context. Bonus: Bala broke down complex terms like “paradox,” “virtue,” and “dialectic” with simple, accessible definitions—great instructional scaffolding for middle school learners.

The tutor made the learner feel comfortable and appreciated her efforts, but confidence-building could be improved with more content-focused discussion.

Thank you so much for the feedback for my performance in the security council. Even though I had never done MUN in my life, you made the conference really comfortable and nothing to be afraid of. Everyone else had really great speaking and MUNing skills and kudos to everyone :) Please host another one like these again!

I marked the first section as not applicable since this was an introductory Model UN session. In terms of creating a comfortable learning environment, you did well by being friendly and pleasant throughout the session. However, one recommendation would be to refer to learners by name more often, since this will make them feel more included in the session and thus learn more. Apart from that though, you did a great job!

This specific type of session was more complex to engage learners because it was an introduction to Model UN but the tutor does a good job with making time in the session just for questions. He answers those questions and the students are mostly engaged. The tutors and co-hosts welcome questions and create a calm environment for learners and used a form to allow learners to ask questions, which helped engage them. To improve, I would suggest making the slides more interactive and adding parts where students can participate, like kahoots to test their understanding on the unpack Model UN session (ex: questions on Model Un and how it works).

Bala was extremely well-prepared, with a clear structure, annotated slides, multiple video clips, and historical context that connected Socrates’ life, philosophy, and legacy. From explaining the quote “The most virtuous way…” to describing Socratic paradoxes and even referencing Martin Luther King Jr., Bala demonstrated strong subject mastery. The use of both videos and primary/secondary sources (like The Death of Socrates painting and the TED-Ed video) strengthened the session. Highlight: Bala even addressed Jonah's unexpected philosophical question about Hegel’s dialectics. Though Bala didn’t have a full answer on the spot, they acknowledged it respectfully and promised to follow up—an excellent example of modeling intellectual humility.

The organisation was a bit awry, but honestly that's completely fine, I think your guys' feedback to me really hit the nail on the head, and I'm glad that I was able to join this/that you hosted this!

Ohh my goodness I'm speechless at what I learnt today. It expanded my horizon. And I love how interactive it went pls keep up with this

I marked the first section as not applicable since learner cameras were off, so it would have been impossible to detect nonverbal signs of struggle. In terms of adapting to learners' unique needs, I liked how you answered the questions on the chat while simultaneously explaining the information. This ensured that all the learners got their questions answered in a quick and effective manner.

Hello! It appeared that the session ran well, without any major hiccups, so great job! The second section is not applicable since this was a session about Model UN, and this section would apply to a subject like English or Math.
