You frequently ask your learner if they are following your solutions and if they need you to rephrase what you said, which builds connection. Good job by also being willing to write on the board so that your learner can visualize your work. You did a nice job talking through the problems with the learner and asking questions about the steps instead of just explaining it yourself.
