This College Admissions Workshop on The Application is a virtual 2-week workshop that will provide you with information and support to submit your college applications. In this workshop, you will: - Learn the purpose of each part of the application - Understand how and when to apply and strategies to consider when making your plan - Complete drafts of frequently required parts of the application, such as lists of activities & experiences, and honors & awards - Work alongside other students who are also preparing to apply to college. As part of an expanded cohort of up to 30 students, you'll benefit from diverse perspectives and collaborative learning opportunities throughout the workshop. This larger group setting allows for rich discussions and peer feedback sessions, while still ensuring you receive the guidance needed to develop your materials. You'll build connections with fellow college-bound students who can offer support and encouragement during this important journey.

Bring all your best ideas and we'll work on them together! Wherever you are in your essay writing process, its great to get an early start to minimize stress. In sessions we can brainstorm, edit, whatever you need! If you'd prefer a small group feel free to reach out and we can do that too!

This tutoring series is designed to help students of all levels with their English reading and writing homework, including essay writing. The series will consist of several sessions, each of which will be led by an experienced instructor. During each session, students will have the opportunity to ask questions about their homework, and the instructor will answer them in a clear and concise manner, providing specific feedback and suggestions. If needed, a whiteboard or projector will be used to illustrate points. The series will conclude with a summary of the key points discussed and review of any next steps. Here’s an outline of the series: Welcome and introductions (5 minutes) Review of the series objective (5 minutes) Student questions and answers (45-75 minutes) Wrap-up and next steps (5 minutes) The instructor will follow these procedures during each session: Welcome students to the session and introduce yourself. Review the series objective with students. Ask students to share their questions about their English reading and writing homework, including essay writing. Answer student questions in a clear and concise manner. Provide students with specific feedback and suggestions. If needed, use a whiteboard or projector to illustrate points. Example questions that students may ask include: -How do I choose a topic for my essay? -How do I develop a strong thesis statement? -How do I organize my essay? -How do I write effective introductions and conclusions? -How do I cite my sources correctly? -How do I improve my grammar and punctuation? -How do I get feedback on my essay?
