AP HUG and AP World Starts Sat Jan 24, 9:00 PM Welcome to your journey toward a score of 5! Whether you are a freshman tackling AP Human Geography (APHUG) or a sophomore diving into AP World History: Modern, my goal is to turn these daunting subjects into your highest-scoring credits. For info, I am a high school junior, and I've taken both these APS and scored a 4. I am just here to help!
Both exams are more than just memorizing dates or maps; they are about understanding the "Why of Where" and the "How of History." Here is how we will master the material together:
*****First session will only mainly go over AP World but I am happy to answer AP Hug questions*****
Our Road Map to a 5
Session 1: The Blueprint
Success starts with knowing exactly how you are being graded. In our first meeting, we will do a deep dive into the Exam Layout.
For Freshmen (APHUG): We’ll demystify the multi-part FRQs (Free Response Questions) and show you how to hunt for points in the Multiple Choice section.
For Sophomores (AP World): We’ll break down the specific "recipes" for the SAQ, DBQ, and LEQ so you never feel stuck staring at a blank page.
Session 2 & Beyond: One Topic, One Goal
After we have the strategy down, we shift into high-gear content mastery. Every subsequent session will follow a proven structure:
Deep Dive: We cover one major unit/topic per session (e.g., Industrialization in World or Population Patterns in APHUG).
The "Big Picture": I’ll show you how that topic connects to the rest of the course—essential for those high-level analysis points.
Active Practice: We will end every session with practice questions pulled from past exams to ensure you can apply what you just learned under pressure.
Why This Works
AP courses can feel like drinking from a firehose. By breaking the curriculum down into digestible, weekly topics and reinforcing them with real test questions, we build your confidence and your "historical thinking" muscles simultaneously.
My Mission: To show you how I scored a 4 on both exams with minimal studying, and show you how if you study you can score even better and get a 5!
