I can't believe this is our lesson today. I appreciate all your hard work for teaching me and creating all the slides. It's really fun meeting you! Times pass by so fast. I appreciate all the lessons! Even though I did not attend a few sessions, but you're the best teacher I've ever had. I'm so glad I got a chance to study in your class. It's sad to see that this is going to be the last session ever, but it was the best. Thank you so much for helping me learn ahead and for all the patience you explained as students did not understand.

Tutor does a wonderful job building communicating with learners, as it seems she is already familiar with them. She addresses them by name, and also welcomes Nancy and Richard kindly as they join. Another thing I really liked was how she remembered to thank her learners when they spoke up/messaged her, which made it more comfortable.

Your sessions are always super thorough! I love the variety of practice problems in the slideshow. Even when I think I've mastered a concept, a problem will be there to remind me that I need to brush back up on basics. Super helpful stuff!

I loved how you tried to connect with your learners beyond math by asking them questions about their hobbies. It goes to show that you are trying to relate to them on a more personal level rather than just having a standard tutor-learner relationship. You are doing a great job fostering a community!

It is clear that the learner was engaged throughout the session and appreciated your time. I noticed that at the start they were happy with the feature you mentioned of being able to undo annotations while working on the problems. You also continued the session past the estimated time since both of you free but I thought it was good you checked with them first.

To start this review - this was probably the best session I have ever peer reviewed, you are an extremely impressive tutor. Therefore, I have to be a bit harsh on some little things you do because there isn't a lot to improve on compared to many other tutors on the website. Regardless, I hope you can take these suggestions and try to incorporate them into future sessions. Your understanding of all of the material was excellent. Your explanations were great and I feel like you helped the learner understand every question they got wrong. This was really impressive. If there was something I would suggest working on, it might be trying to be more visual with your explanations. For example, on the second problem, you guys worked on together, I feel like you could have explained it a little more visually instead of circling some things. This problem was about where a function was increasing. Maybe you can draw a graph and split it into some sections where you know it is increasing vs decreasing instead of trying to say everything verbally. Drawing pictures has helped me while learning and tutoring calculus, and encouraging your learners to do the same might help them a lot. This is a really small thing though, other than that this section was amazing!

Was an amazing tutor!! My math score has gone from a practice 610 to my most recent blue book practice test being a 680!! You were so sweet and helpful and I am so grateful for all your support -- I couldn't have done it without you! I sincerely wish you all the best in all your future endeavors!!

It seems like tutor has had daily or frequent lessons with these learners, referencing previous sessions about partial fractions. She does a really good job still checking in with learners, saying "I know it was a bit overwhelming yesterday, would you like to go over it or move on?" This approach was really nice in giving learners acknowledgement that the topic was hard so they could feel comfortable voicing whatever opinion they had. In terms of engaging learners, I really liked that you paused frequently to ask for questions and being very encouraging. I think you could try asking learners to summarize what they've learned or the steps to solving each problem at the end in addition to asking whether or not there are any questions. For example, at 49:59, you could add on: Could someone sort of summarize what the main takeaways are? This way, you could gain a better understanding of how learners feel, especially approaching a new topic, while simultaneously engaging them more. For the problem after that, where there is a small thing to notice like how plugging in 0 to sqrt(x) in the denominator could cause a problem, you could also take that as an opportunity to engage learners through asking what they think, or what they notice. Finally, nice job giving learners an opportunity to try these new problems on their own at the end! It is a little unclear whether or not the learners were correct since answers were likely sent directly and not to everyone, but it seems like there weren't any questions and that they understood. You could try asking a learner to explain the problem, just to see how well they truly understood, and see where you could give them some tips/pointers.

Your students asking questions is a great way to see if your learners are making progress. By asking questions, it's clear that they are trying their best to understand the material to the best of their abilities. Your learners were also answering questions very well, so great job!

Literally the sweetest and most patient person ever <3 I feel I've been improving so much over the course of your sessions (I can actually understand and answer questions now! It's a miracle thx to you!) Although I'm excited to get done with APs 'm gonna miss these sessions when the exam is over, but I look forward to joining your other series :) One of the best tutors someone could ask for! ♥

I noticed that there was only one other learner in the session but I thought you did a good job of interacting with them and giving time to help out. Great job annotating the screen and pulling up the practice problems online! It was clear that you're confident on the material with AP Calculus.

Great job here! When you prompted the learner to correct their mistakes, they corrected the mistake by themself almost every time without you even having to help them. If you did have to help them more, you did a great job by telling them that they were close and giving them positive reinforcement while pointing out what they did wrong. However, throughout the 2 hr long session, I felt like everything felt a little robotic. I know there are rules about what you can and can't share during a session, and that you're not supposed to make "friends" on Schoolhouse, but that doesn't mean you can't be friendly. I'm not saying that you weren't nice, but even a little small talk at the start as a little icebreaker to settle in would be great to get comfortable in my opinion. This can be a little tough sometimes since I know you two know each other from previous sessions therefore there's no reason to do a formal introduction, but maybe throw in a little story about a past experience from calc here and there. Show some personality. I think it would go a long way :) Overall, fantastic job, Schoolhouse is lucky to have you as a tutor.

There's plenty of evidence that the learner made progress. As stated above, almost every time the learner made a mistake, they corrected themself after you prompted them with how they got to their answer. The learner also had a much better understanding of the problem after you finished with that certain problem.
