The learners made progress in using the word "Hullabaloo". Originally unfamiliar with the word, the tutor gave multiple examples and explanations of the word, allowing the learners to make their own sentences.

It's difficult to see the confidence and environment of this sessions since, aforementioned, this is a series where the sessions are on their own without building off of each other. Also, since this is a session of learning a new word, there isn't really any opportunity to see anyone get something incorrect and there being necessary to build confidence. However, even though all of this, the tutor was able to create a comfortable learning environment. She encouraged example sentences to be made and praises them. She makes little jokes throughout as well, to ease the tension.

Checking the learners' prior knowledge is not needed, in this case, as the learner is learning an entirely new word, and therefore it's safe to assume that the learner has no prior knowledge. Engages the learners by playing a fun Kahoot at the end which definitely makes the session enjoyable for the learners. The instructors confirm learner's progress by playing a Kahoot at the end that's based on the material taught during the session which reaffirmed the material for the learner and would therefore help retain the information for them. I have no critiques as the many instructors (too many lol) made sure the session played out perfectly.

The instructors created very appealing slides that thoroughly explains the word of the day. The slides include the pronunciation, definition, synonyms & antonyms, origin, and how to use it in a sentence, ensuring that the learners will 100% understand the entire meaning of the word. I have no critiques as the many instructors (too many lol) made sure that every single concept of the word was covered.

This shows that you're actively listening to and participating in hosting the session. Giving the learners a quick run-through of your plan for the session also helped them get acquainted. Learners already knew what the word was, and if they didn't they got the synonym/antonym parts right, which shows they understand what the word of the day meant. They also later created sentences including the word of the day, which really proved their knowledge on the word! I liked how you asked them to create sentences with the word of the day after showing them examples to base theirs off of.

The instructors create a comfortable learning environment for the learners by greeting them accordingly and refers to them by their names. They also stay on-task and not ask any personal questions. During the Kahoot, whenever a learner made a mistake, the instructor(s) would kindly explain why their answer would be wrong and then explain to why the reasoning to the actual answer, helping the learner grow in a respectable way.

You guys did a great job in this session! I especially appreciate the effort you put into the slideshow; the transitions, colors, and format all make it so appealing to the learners. Having an entire session based on one singular word is not conventional to say the least, but it looks like you maximized your creative potential here. The Kahoot, as always, is a great add to the session. I like the uniqueness of your questions; for example, the one about which emoji represents "sassafras" the best appeals to more visual learners.
