The tutor consistently encourages the learner throughout the session, complimenting when they do something correctly and building off of their thought process when they are not completely correct. If the learner takes an unconventional and slightly lengthy approach to a problem, the tutor acknowledges that their process is correct and then shows them a shortcut.
