About

Hey y'all! I'm a HS student from New Jersey. I'm here on Schoolhouse to tutor, and I love it! When I'm not on Schoolhouse, I'm doing homework for APUSH, AP Physics 2, and AP Calculus BC, reading translated light novels, playing the piano and saxophone, or watching anime. Feel free to message me for anything you need, and I'll do my best to help!

Reading and Writing for the August 2025 SAT®

Wednesdays 12:15 AM, Saturdays 12:15 AM

Hey guys! My name is Edward, and I'm here to help y'all prep for your SAT. I got a 1600, and I'm trying to help other people get great results! A few things that you'll want to know about my tutoring style before signing up: I'm pretty casual during lessons, and I try to move pretty fast through practice problems. If you guys ask me to explain something or the problem is hard, I'll go over it, but otherwise, I try to power through. That's it! Hope to see y'all in my bootcamp! This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

Your are so supportive!

Learner · 10 hr. ago

You fostered a friendly and encouraging environment from start to finish. You took the time to check in with learners by name and used positive, casual language that made the space feel low-pressure. During the practice test, you reassured learners: “Don’t worry if you don’t know every answer. Just do your best, and we’ll go over it together.” Your enthusiasm and patience helped learners stay engaged and willing to participate. When Daniella hesitated, your calm and supportive tone encouraged her to try again, which helped build her confidence.

You were highly responsive when learners showed confusion. When Zoya asked for clarification on function notation, you circled back to the concept and gave a simpler example: “Let’s think of f(x) as a machine... if you put in 2, what comes out?” This helped reframe the topic and made it more accessible. You also adapted well in the moment when tech issues interrupted part of the Kahoot. You kept the group focused and adjusted by giving extra time to discuss the questions. This flexibility helped the session stay productive without letting the issue become disruptive.

You created multiple opportunities for participation, starting with the icebreaker and continuing through the Kahoot and lesson review. You asked open-ended questions like “What do you notice about this graph?” and “Why do you think that’s the answer?” which helped draw learners in. You responded enthusiastically to answers from learners like Zoya and Daniella, affirming their thinking and redirecting when needed. For instance, when Daniella chose an incorrect answer on a graph question, you said: “That’s a great observation. Now let’s look again at what the transformation means.” Going forward, you might create more space for learners to walk through their reasoning aloud to strengthen peer learning and confidence.
