Great job asking your student what she understands about atomic structure at the beginning. This was a great way to get a gauge on how well they understood the topic. Additionally, instead of just going through practice questions, you asked them prompted questions to get them to think through it. There was a lot of engagement as you asked them to explain their thinking!

When they asked you a question, you would often respond with "that is a great question!" and then ask them what they already know. This is a great way to make students feel more comfortable and also recognize exactly what they need help on. This happened when they asked if you could transfer electrons to other objects

Great job first starting off conversationally and then slowly transitioning into talking about content. You also had slides prepared already about the topic with explanations and exercises. You explained all the concepts really well by first asking the student what they understood and then reaffirming or refining their thinking especially at the beginning.

You did a really good job making this lesson feel personal to the student. When you asked her what she knew, you took her answer and helped her fill in the gaps. There was a part where even though they said they understood, you still asked them if they had any additional questions. This allowed them to feel more comfortable telling you they needed additional help.

You gave learners some really good chances to participate, like for example, I loved how you encouraged Kylianne to explain how to do the desmos warm up, and then afterwards gave another option for how to do it. That can be helpful because different methods will work better for different learners, so giving options is amazing. Having learners frequently engage with material can help learners understand and remember information better.

It's great that you shared your screen with slides, desmos, and annotated on the screen throughout the session because visuals like those can be incredibly helpful for learners to follow along and understand better.
