Heyy Arnav! Thank you for your dedication in teaching us of mastering this math SAT well. Initially I'm sorry for my absences during your sessions, where I only attended once (with some trouble in audios) for my boarding school's busy schedules :) But overall, you are really kind and helpful in teaching us with your useful tricks and explanations! If there's another opportunity to join your session I would like to get involved, maybe the one that doesn't fit me well is the time schedule (which is it's 8-9pm or more in my country) so I can't really contribute till the end :D

Thank you Arnav for this session (and the whole series)! These were some really great practice problems and your style of teaching is very effective!

Learner · 2 mo. ago

When you go over question 2 you make sure every learner answers the question, and that they understand it clearly. "So, please raise your hands if you have any questions, or unmute, because I do want to make sure everyone gets this before we move on to the next one." This is exactly how you want to make learners comfortable with asking for help! You realized the next one is a little different and adjusted by making sure everyone had the foundation first.

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

You do an excellent job of encouraging the learners, and letting them know it's okay to use different methods. For example you said "Okay, you are absolutely correct. That is definitely one way to do it, and you got the right answer." You also use cold calling which is a great technique to increase engagement, and followed up with each learner. This is all awesome and you should keep up the great work!

i was really comfortable with his teaching style

The tutor adjusted the session plan when a student hadn’t completed the SAT practice test, postponing the review until both were ready. When students answered differently or got incorrect answers, the tutor responded constructively, using their errors as teaching moments. The tutor also accommodated different learning speeds and technical challenges.

Tutor · 4 mo. ago

The tutor actively checked in with students, rotated who shared their approach, and encouraged explanations via chat or mic. For instance, the tutor asked Nicole and Zaina to explain their reasoning in different problems, fostering engagement. Pacing was managed well, and learners were encouraged to try problems before full solutions were revealed.

Tutor · 4 mo. ago

You did an amazing job ensuring all voices were heard, even the ones in the chat. For example, when you answered Nicole's question, you did so in a way that made sense to her, as she validated your explanation. You also do an amazing job at deciding which questions need a more in-depth explanation as well as learning what your learners need. For example, asking about Tata's experience with desmos really helped you to set up the rest of the session. What works for me when attempting to adjust my tutoring as needed is asking my learners to explain their process to me, that way I can find out their process of tackling questions and help with any misconceptions along the way. This also helps in scenarios such as Zaina's question - when a learner asks a question that requires a reexplanation, rather than repeating what you said earlier (which most likely didn't stick to the learner the first time, which indicates it might still not make sense the second time), you can ask the learner to explain their understanding of the solution and tailor your tutoring to their explanation. Overall, you did a great job with ensuring questions were heard and responded to!

Your slides were great and prove that you put a lot of effort into preparing for this session! The questions you selected were awesome and you consistently took into account the level that your learners were at with SAT learning and prep. What helps me when I'm working with desmos is showing my learners the desmos screen - for example, in the same way that you screencasted your slideshow, you could do for desmos. This helps your learners visualize the steps as well as get used to the layout desmos (especially if some learners aren't going to desmos on their own). In all, though, your slides are amazing and you clearly care about these sessions! :)

Hi Arnav! The session appeared to have run smoothly, so no issues there! Also, you looked like you knew what you were talking about, and conveyed a deep understanding of the material, great job!

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

You created a relaxed and respectful environment from the start. Asking for Rose / Bud / Thorn helped learners feel heard as people, not just students. You referenced your own SAT experience (“I took the March 2025 SAT”) and balanced a helpful, casual tone with technical instruction. While the lesson leaned more academic than personal, your tone stayed welcoming and easy to follow, which built learner confidence.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

You delivered a clear and well-organized overview of the SAT Math section. Your breakdown of the key topics (algebra, advanced math, problem solving, data analysis, geometry, and trigonometry) helped set expectations for the learners. When you walked through Desmos features step-by-step, including examples like manipulating sliders and using regression tables, you demonstrated strong content knowledge and effective digital tool integration. Your explanation of the diagnostic test’s purpose and how to use the results to identify weak areas (e.g., “If you got questions 1, 2, 6, and 9 wrong…”) showed your ability to connect content to learner growth.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

The session was excellently structured, providing a strong foundation for learners. Its smooth execution and your on-screen annotations significantly boosted visual understanding. Your materials, from the ice-breaker and SAT match introduction to the formula sheet, Desmos introduction, and test analysis, were thoroughly prepared, clearly demonstrating your dedication. Your effective explanation of the process, accurate problem-solving, and clear articulation of underlying concepts were highly beneficial to the learners.

Thankyou for this session! i learnt a lot regardless the time of my stay

Learner · 27 days ago

The tutor was very interactive, responsible, and patient. The instructions and explanations were clear, and there was a good range of problems picked out. I was especially grateful for the tip on using demos for the SATs, since I was not aware of that before, and wasn't really sure how to use it for maximum benefit during testing. The tutor was very skilled in terms of using desmos in this sense. I would, however be looking forward to harder questions. Overall, great lesson, and I would definitely tune in again!

Learner · 27 days ago

Thank you again for the session. It was really easy to understand and interactive!

Thank you for taking the time to teach us. I learned a lot and enjoyed this session.

Learner · 1 mo. ago

Thank you so much my doubts about the questions are clear and you also let everyone explain the reasoning. You helped me out so much. Thank you so much for this session.

Learner · 1 mo. ago

THANK YOU SO MUCH I HOPE YOU GET INTO THE COLLEGE OF YOUR DREAMS!!!

Learner · 2 mo. ago

Nice job addressing everyone by name and making sure you had the pronunciation correct. You also make sure each learner shares about themselves even if it is awkward at first to foster learner connections. Charlotte was engaging a lot which is great, but you noticed Joshua hadn't answered as much so you asked him what answer he got. Nice work with creating an inclusive environment. Another thing to add is that Emmanuel joined quite late in the session but you made an effort to reintroduce yourself and encourage him to come back. Overall really really great work!

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

I really love your personalized slide deck, it is very engaging and conveys deep commitment and prep! When you are teaching plots you use a real life example with SAT and colleges, this shows you truly understanding the concept and can apply it to real life examples. Your explanations are extremely detailed, and you make an effort to explain it in other ways if needed. Great work!

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

Thank you for everything throughout this session. Your teaching style was entertaining and comfortable, and I enjoyed attending all sessions. Thank you!

Learner · 4 mo. ago

The tutor praised correct answers, reassured students when they made mistakes by saying “that’s okay,” “you’re getting better”, and encouraged participation in a low-pressure way. The tutor’s tone was friendly and supportive throughout, fostering a safe space for learning and boosting the students’ confidence, especially during complex geometry problems.

Tutor · 4 mo. ago

The tutor clearly had a structured agenda and moved through topics in a logical sequence starting with SAT Practice Test review, then progressing through geometry and trigonometry with a solid foundation. Visual examples, formula references, and diagrams were used effectively. The tutor anticipated common student mistakes, such as forgetting to square a radius or mixing up triangle proportions, which demonstrated strong content mastery.

Tutor · 4 mo. ago

You did a great job facilitating a comfortable learning environment by ensuring all of your learners understand what's happening in the session. For example, even if the session was the third one, you still reexplained the session structure to Tata and made sure they felt comfortable within the session. It was also great that you greeted people that entered, even when you were in the middle of the session. I find that icebreakers are a nice way to help learners feel more comfortable in the space, so that could be something that you try! Overall, you did an amazing job ensuring learners felt comfortable.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

The tutor strengthened confidence by complimenting students for correct answers, like question 2, and encouraged learners to solve problems without calculators. The tutor also created a comfortable environment by allowing breaks and welcoming questions from new students.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

You adjusted naturally to learners’ comfort levels, such as when Asma had trouble with Desmos (“If it’s your first time, then you can use a normal calculator... use whatever you’re comfortable with right now”). You also gave Asma extra time on the test after she joined late and reassured her about not needing to finish quickly. You acknowledged when some learners might be revisiting older math concepts and emphasized areas like algebra and trigonometry accordingly (“you might need to like recap...that’s important because the SAT tests everything”).

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

You invited every learner to participate in introductions using the Rose / Bud / Thorn format and responded supportively to each. You made sure learners were comfortable using Desmos and checked in to make sure they could access the diagnostic (“Have you guys used desmos.com before?”). Later, you asked learners like Aala and Asma to reflect on their test experience, which encouraged personal engagement with the material. When Nicole pointed out an issue in the test, you responded respectfully and acknowledged the mistake without hesitation.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

Your patience in answering practice test questions truly shows how much you care about your peers! The Rose/Bud/Thorn ice-breaker is also incredibly effective at helping you connect with learners. To build on this warmth and create an even more welcoming space, try to incorporate more frequent call-outs and address learners by name during your sessions. These small gestures can make a huge difference in fostering a sense of belonging for everyone!

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

Thank you the session! Super super helpful. I got logged out of zoom towards the end. ): Can't wait for next weeks!

the lessons r very understandable i get it well

Learner · 6 mo. ago

I loved your attitude throughout this session. Whenever the learner was going through some technical difficulties are asked questions, you stayed patient and reassured them with a positive statement.
