To start, you started the session with an appropriate method to check the learner's understanding, as the MARS rubric requires. I liked how you reviewed the information from the previous session to see your learner's progress and to see what stage they are at right now. It's extremely useful as one can use that knowledge to tailor their sessions. By starting off the session with a review, and practice problems, you were able to assess your learners and their progress. Doing this allowed you to build off of your learner's existing knowledge, and you were able to move forward adapting to their unique needs as needed. When Tristan and Paige used a different method in finding the exact value of each expression, you supported them, and let them know it was okay to use a different method. However, for the other learners, or just for general knowledge, it was a great idea to explain the other method or way to do it... the way you prefer to do it. I liked how you didn't force them to use your method, but let them choose, or see what works best for them. Moving forward, you continued to engage the learners throughout the whole session whether it be by asking them questions amid your lecture or letting them take the lead in answering the practice problems. I also noticed how the chat was well utilized, and you made sure to respond to everyone's message verbally. As the session was coming to a close, as the MARS rubric suggests, you made sure that the learners completed practice problems. I noticed that it wasn't just near the end when you incorporated practice problems. There was some sort of practice going on throughout the whole session, so good job! It was also quite nice of you to provide tips near the end to help ensure the learners would progress well in pre-calculus.

Ariana, you did a great job at strengthening your learners' confidence. It wasn't just once or twice where you found small but effective ways to develop their confidence- no, throughout the whole session, you were giving them pep talks, and letting them know it's okay to make mistakes as they're all just beginning to learn pre-calculus. You told them about your own struggles sometimes which I feel is a useful thing to do so they know that they're not alone. By doing all of this, you were able to create a comfortable learning environment in which the learners all felt secure enough to answer your questions via chat and solve the problems on the slideshow. You also facilitated a kind and deferential environment by referring to your learners by their names!

THIS SESSION WAS A GODSEND! I really mean it, if anyone want to review or even learn units that they maybe weren’t quite sure on this session would wash away their worries! Renia was very fun and helpful in explaining everything and helped answer my questions very thoroughly. Natalie went into a lot of detail about everything and was very confident about everything she was saying and easily answered all my questions. I loved the pave that Maggie told everything in and really left no questions to be said with all the topics, and on the off chance that I did have a question she answered it very well. I loved Ariana’s energy and she kept the whole thing going with an upbeat attitude and generally speaking everyone were just so kind and patient.

For starters, I really like how you weren't just reading off your slides but rather elaborating on your explanations, using your notes to provide learners with that reference, not only allowing them time to comprehend everything but also writing down what you've shared on your screen. The periodic table and moles conversion visual really stood out; as a chemistry tutor myself, I find that putting out such visuals really helps learners visualize the concept being explained, which I can tell you pulled off brilliantly! Plus, at the ending of the session, where practice questions were involved, your annotations made it easier to pinpoint steps and solving strategies, which the learner was able to engage to and answer sub-questions based on that practice! Good job Ariana. Keep up your hard work and dedication to Schoolhouse!

This WOMAN! Oh my god, she's so amazing at what she does. SO AMAZING. We hopped on Zoom at 10:50 PM so she could check over my research paper, and at 11:10 or something, she noticed that I didn't provide enough information for one of the two countries my research was on. In the next 10 minutes, this woman scavenged the internet to find me sources and information I could utilize in my research, and voila-- we had enough information on China! In the next 5 minutes, I was able to review my research paper by myself, and guess what I noticed? I didn't have to edit or change anything because while she was going over my research, she pointed out everything I needed to edit. THIS GIRLLLLL!!!! She was tired from her own work but found time for me. It means a lot to me. Thank you so much, Ariana. You're THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
