Thank you for an amazing week and a half tutoring plan!! You’ve made things a lot easier for me, and like I said I feel like you have helped me grow !! Thank you so much for your patient and your time ! 💕

Thank you so much for your patience with me. 💕At first I kept getting about 5 questions on average wrong. But then it went down to 2 and now it’s only 1. Hopefully in the future tests, it’ll be none wrong. This just goes to show how much I’ve improved😊. You have helped me out tremendously!! You’re amazing!!🌟🌟

Your engagement was excellent, specifically because you consistently asked the student to explain her reasoning, which is crucial for building confidence and metacognition. For example, when she chose answer B (00:09:15), you immediately asked, "Do you have, like, reasoning? Why would you put B?" (00:09:21). I’d recommend continuing to push the student to use the process of elimination out loud, as you did with the difficult question (00:20:24), asking, "Tell me why A, B, and C are not correct." This solidifies her analytical skills.

You adapted beautifully by recognizing the student's moment of doubt (00:21:16) and offering valuable test-taking advice: "go with your gut, because your gut, most of the time, is always right" (00:21:51). When the student was stuck between two answers on the second difficult question (00:25:47), you provided a subtle but effective scaffold by reading the passage aloud (00:25:00) and helping her dissect the trick answer that relied on a non-supported claim ("challenging an established belief") (00:27:14). This adaptation helped her recognize SAT trap answers, which is a key skill.

You were extremely prepared for this session, knowing the exact domain where the student excelled ("information and ideas," where she got zero questions wrong) and structuring the lesson around that data (00:01:49). You also seamlessly integrated a highly relevant grammar warm-up (periods, semicolons, and colons) that is directly applicable to the SAT (00:02:40). I'd recommend continuing to use this strategy, as it's a great use of the initial few minutes. Your explanation of the interchangeability of periods and semicolons (00:03:55) and the required structure for colons (00:05:00) showed a comprehensive understanding of SAT grammar rules.
