BTB team meetup
This meeting is specifically for members of the BTB team - a team of tutors who work hard to make sure your session requests are resolved in the best way possible. If you’re a tutor but not in the team, keep an eye out in #volunteer opportunities for future opportunities to join our team.
For those of you in the BTB team and who are joining, today’s discussion topic is SUBWORLDS. Be prepared to discuss the following points:
- Do you think that Subworlds will solve the problem of session requests, at least in part?
- What challenges may Subworlds pose that are similar to the problems we’ve been tackling? How likely do you think these problems are to arise?
- Would a BTB-team equivalent be helpful in a Subworlds environment? If so, how would it look?
- Does the data we have collected give us any insight into any of the above questions?
- What advice, if any, can we give to the product team to ensure the transition to Subworlds makes getting help easier rather than harder?

BTB “March” Meeting Zone 3
BTB team get excited! As we continue to Beat the Backlog in the session request portal, we’ll be having great discussions about how best to achieve our goal: To give as many learners as possible exactly what they need when they need it.
As a reminder, BTB team members are only required to attend one of these meetings each month. While this session is in April (at least on my side of the world), we are counting it as the last session for March.

This meeting is designed to be at a time that is convenient for people in South Asia, but all team members are welcome to join if their schedule permits. The meeting is shorter than most other meetings to reflect the fact that there will probably be less people and thus less to talk about, but it can be extended if needed.

Beating the Backlog - Session Requests
NOTE: The time of this session may change to accomodate as many people as possible.
This session is basically about matchmaking - matchmaking between tutors and learners to create sessions for everyone’s needs.
If you are a learner who has put in a session request recently, join us to get your request resolved in record time!
If you are a tutor, we need you! In this session, you will choose session requests to take responsibility for. You will ultimately either host a session, match the learner to a session or close the request due to inactivity.
This session cannot work with fewer than 20 tutors, so please if you’re a tutor we need you to join us beat the backlog for session requests together.

Even More Math
Intro to algebra ... via chocolate
In this session, we'll be using a chocolate slab to understand the basics of algebra in a fun, intuitive way. We'll start by using the chocolate to work out a few algebraic rules, and then you'll be given a challenge ... to work out how much chocolate I have in my mystery box. It should be a lot of fun.
If you can come to the session with a slab of chocolate (something like dairy milk), or otherwise lots of small, similar objects (like m&m's, grapes or counters), that would be amazing. If not, you can still follow along and have fun. Hope to see you there!
