Learnstorm Algebra 1 Support Group 💛

This is a peer support group for anyone who's working on learning Algebra 1! If you need a little boost of motivation or someone to talk through the tougher concepts with, this is the group for you.

What will we do?
- Every week, we'll have OPTIONAL study rooms where we'll work on our own homework problems or Khan Academy practice, individually. If you get stuck on a problem, you can just ping the chat for help.
- Based on our team's shared Khan Academy progress, we'll get to make donations to charities in our team's name and also get chances to win Schoolhouse merch! 🎁

Most importantly: we're here to help each-other. No matter what grade you're aiming for, the purpose of this group is to help each other reach those personal goals while having fun!!

Khan Academy Foundations of Algebra

What is a variable? What does it mean to "combine like terms"? 

Join this series to learn and practice these fundamental Algebra concepts! We'll be covering the material in the "Algebra Foundations" unit of Khan Academy, and then we'll complete the unit test together. 

This series is perfect for you if you're currently taking Algebra and feeling like you're missing something, or if you're taking pre-algebra and you want to set yourself up for success when you take Algebra.

SAT Practice Challenge Meetup

This is a meetup for students taking the SAT practice challenge (learn more here: https://community.schoolhouse.world/march-sat-takers-isgs0wfd)

We'll start with an icebreaker session to get to know each other, then we'll have a two hour independent study session each week. Sessions are optional, but you can use them to fulfill the challenge's 2-hour requirement for studying within Schoolhouse.

Algebra Weekly Certification Challenge

Let's master Algebra in 2022! 🎉

This is a 15-week challenge to get one new Algebra certification each week. Our weekly support meetings are optional, but completing the certifications isn't: if any of us don't get certified by Sunday night at 12pm EST, we're booted from the challenge! Only one free "late pass" for when life gets in the way. If at least 75% of us can complete the challenge, we'll all get a prize 🏆

Whether you're completely new to Algebra, or just need a refresher, let's work together and level up!

Building a Mission-Driven Career

What kind of impact do you want to have on the world through your career?

If this question speaks to you, I encourage you to attend this session! I'll talk about my experience getting into EdTech, starting from the time I was in high school, and we'll discuss the many shapes and forms that mission-driven careers can take. We'll also have some time for group reflection and Q&A.

I am capping the group size at 30 so it's easier for everyone to participate in the discussion. Please come prepared to turn your camera on and participate!

Schoolhouse End-of-Year Party! 🎉🎄✨Co-hosted by Mariah and Kirill. 

Whether you're celebrating Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice or something else: happy holidays! :)
