In a 2006 study, researchers at the University of South Florida took several hundred students and gave them a test. Group A studied over the course of two sessions, over two weeks. Group B packed everything group A learned into one session. While the exam was the same, group A did roughly twice as well. My name is Theo, and like you all, I am a high school student who’s spent much of my time this year training for, avoiding, and obsessing over the SAT test. On March 6, 10 learners (and myself) will take it over 2 hours and 14 odd minutes. But we’ll have trained like group A, so we emerge as champions (or, to cut the dramatics, with the best possible scores we can have). Our ‘bootcamp’ will happen over the course of four weeks, with two sessions over Zoom every week. We’ll go over problems together, do practice tests, and prepare intensively for the reading and writing portion of the test.
