Yonathan established a very professional and comfortable learning environment by starting the session with a polite apology for his absence and by checking on the students' overall SAT prep progress. He showed good sensitivity to both students' needs (checking on the new student's Bluebook status and the existing student's test results and maintained a positive and encouraging tone. Yonathan did great and should continue to emphasize the strategic importance of Desmos, framing it not just as a tool but as a confidence-building skill that allows them to solve complex problems and save time.

Yonathan was highly responsive to student difficulties by immediately pivoting to a detailed explanation when one student had confusion about the percentage change formula. He patiently wrote out the "new minus old over old" structure. He was also flexible in addressing a student's difficulty with a quadratic word problem by demonstrating the graphing technique on Desmos as a visual aspect which ensured that the concept was clear. As a suggestion or preference, Yonathan could write the formulas or set up proportions and that the variables are clearly labeled on the digital whiteboard to eliminate any confusion before asking the student to solve for the unknown value.

Yonathan demonstrated a strong grasp of the SAT math content particularly in concepts like percentage change, exponential growth models, and algebraic manipulation (factoring, common denominators). He identified and explained the core formulas needed for each problem which provided an excellent technical foundation. He also emphasized the importance of using Desmos as a primary SAT tool and even demonstrated the powerful regression feature. To build more on this, Yonathan should ensure his explanations of fundamental concepts like the percentage change formula (new minus old over old) are presented with slightly more visual organization right from the start which minimizes the initial confusion the student had.
