You encouraged active participation and guided Joshua to explain his thinking clearly. You effectively clarified the idea of "junk" values and functions, while allowing Joshua to take the lead in discussion and problem-solving. You explained downside/ FRQ approach aslo very well. You nailed it "Could we possibly receive an input. That's not one of these." These kind of checks are very effective.
