You didn't ask many check in questions, and when you did it was limited to questions like "does that make sense?" or "do you have any questions?", but that kind of implies that it should make sense or that there won't be any questions. It's recommended by schoolhouse to instead ask something like "what questions do you have?" because that can make learners more comfortable asking for help if they need any.
