You used personal anecdotes (such as your own success at the Harvard Invitational) not to dominate, but to build a bridge of shared experience with Isha who is preparing for the same tournament. You handled Fizza’s beginner-level questions with the same level as Isha’s advanced questions. This ensured that both felt equally respected, which is critical given the speech & debate session that often addresses controversial topics. You also successfully navigated the controversial opinion icebreaker to build familiarity and more support amongst your learners, ensuring that the session remained a safe space where students felt more comfortable to share their thoughts.
