In this series, we cover random yet tough topics from the AP Chemistry curriculum at a beginner-friendly level. Session 1 covers Topic 1.2: Mass Spectra of Elements; session 2 covers Topic 4.7: Types of Chemical Reactions (precipitation reaction focus).

In this session, we'll be covering Topic 4.7: Types of Chemical Reactions of the AP Chemistry curriculum, focusing on precipitation reactions at a beginner-friendly level. Goal: Help students with memorizing/understanding/applying solubility rules, seeing real world applications, recognizing precipitation reactions, and writing full/net ionic equations, which are all integral yet tricky concepts to tackle.

In this session, we'll be covering Topic 4.7: Types of Chemical Reactions of the AP Chemistry curriculum, focusing on Oxidation-Reduction reactions at a beginner-friendly level. This will lead into learning and practicing a new, more advanced balancing technique involving oxidation states: balancing redox reactions in acidic or basic solutions. This is AP Chemistry-specific content! Goal: Help students with assigning oxidation states, understand redox concepts, recognizing redox reactions, and learn new balancing techniques, which are all integral yet tricky concepts to tackle.

Hey guys! We're Monique and Katelyn, and we're co-hosting a drop in crash course on the Science Olympiad event Chemistry-based Forensics! It'll be a super beginner-friendly introduction and guided studying opportunity with tons of test exposure and chemistry (including AP Chem-level mass spectrometry and chromatography). As partners, we absolutely love learning about forensics, and we always have a fun time competing, which is why we were inspired to tutor others that are interested too! In this session, we'll be covering Topic 2.7: VSEPR and Hybridization of the AP Chemistry curriculum. Goal: Help students with memorizing and understanding the concepts behind higher-level VSEPR theory, which is often a tricky topic to tackle.
