I think you did an excellent job when it came to adapting to your learners. This is because rather than asking if your learners understood the content or not, you used the practice problems to understand their unconscious struggles more, understanding where they went wrong and common patterns. (Eg. Forgetting the dy/dx, not identifying the chain rule components correctly, etc.) This shows your attention as a tutor as your learners can express their thoughts before you correctly navigate next steps. You also did excellent in making sure all of your learners were properly taught the content (Eg. When the other learner came late, you made sure to review the content you taught last time, which helped your first learner!), building off their knowledge successfully. Great job!

Jasmitha met each of their students at their level of calculus understanding. At one point, she even changed the course of her presentation (switching to an older one) to account for one learner's lack of understanding of limits and intermediate differentiation (checking with the other learner beforehand). Each learner experienced detailed, real-time feedback that made a significant impact on their understanding. For instance, during the initial discussion of the chain rule, Jasmitha helped one of the learners with the concept to the point where that learner could independently (and correctly) complete practice problems on it. It was clear from early on until the end that learners were improving in their understanding of calculus under the instruction of Jasmitha.

Jasmitha experienced no difficulty in their preparation, having prepared a detailed slideshow presentation that covered multiple advanced topics in Units 1-3 of AP Calculus. She provided detailed slides that not only explained the theory behind the content, but used expertise to explain how to apply that theoretical knowledge is used in practice problems. Practice problems, guided and individual practice, and visualizations were ample throughout the presentation and demonstrated a clear understanding of the principles of calculus. Jasmitha demonstrated a mastery of both the content and the ability to convey conceptual understanding to learners.

I think you did an excellent job when it came to engaging with your learners. This is because you made sure your learners took lead for most of the problems after you gave an example on how to solve it with you functioning as support before understanding their thinking process. That is excellent in understanding how they are with key concepts in the curriculum and to shape examples. You use a technique here called motivational interviewing (I recommend searching this technique up which I think could further benefit you as well), where you summarize and reflect on your learners steps, showing your attention to allowing your learners to practice efficiently.

Jasmitha and her learners actively engaged in regular and consistent conversation, helping the learners to advance their knowledge of the subject matter. Only at parts that directly instructed on calculus concepts did the tutor stop conversing with learners; however, these brief intermissions in tutorial learning were followed by expert "We Do" and "They Do" exercises that demonstrate a clear understanding of how to instruct and engage with learners. Learners were regularly encouraged to explain their thought processes, helping to rectify any possible misunderstandings of the content. At any point in which a learner made a mistake, Jasmitha normalized their error and encouraged them to try again. All of the learners seemed eager to participate in well-thought-out calculus exercises. Jasmitha carefully crafted an environment of active engagement with learners.

Thank you very much for your patience exercised throughout the meeting, this was my first time ever interacting with the rules and calculus in general. Thankfully the explanations and pace was slow enough so that you could walk me through the different rules. I feel like I actually understood it and slowly will get used to them as I practice.
