He was amazing. He went overtime making sure we understood the explanations behind an answer. I actually learned a lot from this lesson. Modifiers need to stay as close to their subject as possible for example. There's so many questions I probably messed up on the SAT because I didn't know things like this.

You made sure to ask the learner about their prerequisite knowledge with questions like "are you familiar with coordinating conjunctions?" which was really effective at allowing you to tailor the session accordingly. I think it may not be a bad idea to actually do this even more frequently especially towards the beginning of the session like when you were discussing independent and dependent clauses. I also think the practice problems that you gave towards the end of the session was a great way for you to engage your learner and check the progress they were making! It was also great how you asked what type of punctuation your learner needed additional practice with. My only suggestion to make your sessions even more engaging would be to explain what the next steps would be for the learner to continue to improve whether it be just more practice or maybe you could recommend him to some Khan Academy videos. The fact that there was only one learner at the session should give you a great opportunity to really personalize your feedback. Other then that, great job!
