Good job on asking the learner what they already know so far! It really helps in adapting your teaching to their needs. It was also great how you continued to ask the learner what they knew and what they didn't. The only advice I have here is to be a little more sensitive when responding back the learner when they get an answer incorrect. For example, starting your sentence by saying, "You're almost there!"

I think it was clear that you very knowledgeable in what you were saying! It's also good that you had a paper prepared for the learner to go through. One piece of advice I have here is to try creating a powerpoint or slideshow, just because it can be more organized that way and easier to teach.

You did a good job checking Anatoli’s prior knowledge by asking about his familiarity with percentages at the beginning of the session. This allowed you to gauge his comfort level and tailor your teaching accordingly. Throughout the session, you adapted well to his needs by offering alternative methods when he struggled, such as simplifying division processes or providing tips for quicker calculations. You kept him engaged by encouraging him to try problems independently and offering consistent positive reinforcement like “Good job” and “That’s amazing.” Additionally, you confirmed his progress by asking clarifying questions and summarizing his solutions, ensuring he understood each step before moving on. To build on this, consider summarizing key takeaways at the end of each section to reinforce learning.
