Reading and Writing for the May 2025 SAT

Wednesdays 3:15 PM, Thursdays 3:15 PM

Hi, my name is Hollis, and I am looking forward to teaching the SAT Reading and Writing section! My teaching style revolves around the philosophy that anyone can learn anything with proper motivation and resources. My role as the tutor is to create an engaging and informative environment that encourages engagement without criticism. This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone soon! 👍 Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

Reading and Writing for the November 2024 SAT

Saturdays 4:30 PM, Sundays 3:00 PM

Hi! My name is Hollis, and I’m excited to offer my expertise as an SAT tutor to help you achieve your academic goals. My teaching philosophy is that I believe that anyone can learn anything if they want to and that everyone would rather succeed than fail. In English, often students just haven't learned the concept yet (even I relate to this as the tutor). My classroom is a safe space for all learners as we try to explore new concepts we don't already know and refine our understanding of what we have learned in the past. I try to focus on students in the classroom and targeted instruction to produce better learning outcomes when developing lessons. Teaching is something I am passionate about, and I hope this experience will help reinforce and learn new concepts in a positive and productive way. I hope to see you in my class!👍 This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You'll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT.
