You are an expert at engaging your learners. You immediately handed over control of the session by asking, "Would anyone like to start us off with the first step?" and encouraged them to draw on the screen. Throughout the session, you consistently checked for understanding with questions like, "Does anyone have any questions?" and "What do you think you would do first?" This continuous feedback loop kept the students involved. You also created a safe space for them to speak up. When a student, Areeb, made an incorrect assumption, you gently corrected him while still praising his attempt, saying, "No, no, you can go ahead." and "good catch." This non-judgmental approach encourages active participation, which is crucial for effective learning. Your ability to get students to talk through their thought processes and make a mistake in a low-stakes environment is a testament to your excellent tutoring skills.

Thank you for clearing up a lot of my nervousness for this Bootcamp. The way you simulated an entire tutoring session to teach tutors was very helpful. I greatly appreciate it!

You were extremely adaptable and patient, especially when facing technical difficulties. When your drawing tools weren't working and you had to rejoin the meeting, you apologized and handled the situation with professionalism, which put the students at ease. You also showed impressive flexibility when a student asked you to revisit a problem. Instead of rushing, you asked them what they wanted you to do ("Do you want me to also undo my... like, the work?") and patiently waited for their response. This kind of patience and willingness to adapt to the student's pace and needs is a hallmark of an effective tutor. You also showed a nuanced understanding of the students' struggles, recognizing when a student made a good catch about a misread problem and immediately correcting your own approach and explanation.
