About

Hi! I'm currently a motivated junior at a high school in Texas. I enjoy making typically difficult topics (like math or standardized testing) easier to understand. I'm happy to help wherever I can! I love reading, crafts, and listening to music.

Throughout this session, you were very friendly and encouraging to your learner. One example of this can be shown through the last moments of the Zoom session, when you praised Elize and noticed her steady improvement. This is a great way to strengthen your learner's confidence, making them more willing to take risks and participate even if they may not understand the problem initially. On a broader scale, you displayed a patient, hospitable tone as you walked through each of the problems with Elize. In doing this, you allow for a positive and interactive learning environment. I find that this is an amazing way to make lessons enjoyable, increasing the chances of returning learners. You're doing a really good job, Ashmita! I encourage you to keep up the amazing work as you continue to host sessions here at Schoolhouse. :)

Thank you for the session, it was informative and helpful! I now know another way to solve WIC questions in the R&W module in the SAT but with high accuracy! Thanks to you! :D

Hey there Ashmita! To start off with laying the foundation, you have the necessary tools for your session. Although you admit to having Internet problems, the session still ran as smoothly as possible. I really like the lesson plan you created -- the slides are clean and concise, and you have a clear, structured lesson to cover during the session. I also like how you used an annotation tool throughout the session, allowing you to underline and chunk passages. This is a great way to ensure that your learner is getting the most out of each session you spend together! I can also tell, through your explanations and lesson preparation, that you are extremely knowledgeable of the nuances in the SAT R&W section. For example, you did a good job articulating your ideas while explaining Text Structure and Purpose, giving Elize pointers on what to look for when answering such problems. You're doing good in this aspect, I encourage you to keep up the good work :)
