I loved how you began right away by asking the learner to explain her approach. You often prompted her to consider the next step, and asked "why" she did something. This is a great method to assess your learner's strengths and areas of confusion. When you explained the problem, you frequently employed active learning through the "we do" strategy. You would constantly check your learner's understanding at various points in the explanation, and would sometimes ask her to predict the next step in the approach. This holds true for your explanation on both the geometric and algebraic problems. I rarely give "advanced" ratings for all portions of the active learning rubric, but this was a wonderful example of an ideal Schoolhouse tutoring session. Great job!
