Reading and Writing for the December 2024 SAT

Fridays 1:00 PM, Saturdays 1:00 PM

Hi, my name is Anh, and I'm a high school student from Viet Nam. I self-prepared for the SAT and took it on August 2024 and got 790 for R&W 😄! I'm more than eager now to give back some tips and guide you through the preparation for this test. Please check the schedule and make sure you don't have any time conflict before registering!

I learned a great method for the SAT reading passages, thanks!

Anh, you were well-prepared to teach SAT Reading and Writing in this session! It's always good to use a slideshow to guide the session, so I'm glad you made that decision. I especially liked that you annotated your own slideshow; this shows that your tips are much deeper than surface-level. Thank you for explaining in depth what you were going to cover and wanted to achieve in the session before starting; this gives the learner a good idea of what to expect to get out of the session. Similarly, you take the time to explain the vocab words rather than just leaving the slide up- nice! One suggestion I have here is to guide the learner's note-taking process; that is, ask her what words in the definition she thinks are most important to understanding the vocabulary word as a whole (e.g., "prevent" for "preclude"). This would definitely get her in the mindset for WIC questions on the SAT. Overall, well done!
