About

I'm an HS Junior from India.

What I like :

Books - They will always be my first love . Some of my favorite genres include Fantasy, Fiction and Short Biographies

Debating - A good debate always gets my brain buzzing and it's always really amazing to witness different perspectives

Writing - When you won't find my head buried in books or listening to music. I'll be giving life to some new WIP of mine that has been sitting in my head for the past .... IDK .

Why I joined Schoolhouse :

Learning from others - I'm not perfect and I don't know everything . So learning from other people really gives me the opportunity to expand my horizons and adapt their tutoring skills .

Tutoring others - This gives me a chance to share what I learned and add my own spin to it , so that other people can attain the same level of understanding or make progress from their previous levels . It provides me with a chance to give back what I learned from this community.

What I'm certified in :

You can find me as a tutor in the following Subworlds -

* Reading and Writing

* Biology

* Pre Algebra

I hope I can help others grow alongside myself and form new connections .

I appreciate your help i was very nervous to talk and explain my query but your friendly nature made it much easier to clarify my doubts. above all I like how you didn't give up on my confusions and tried to answer them repeatedly with patience. overall it was a great experience thank you

A slideshow presentation on the brain was used to teach the session's concepts. You did a great job compiling an engaging and informative presentation. A whiteboard was also used as a visual for the concept of hormones. For the whiteboard, I would recommend to have it pre-written or have it as part of your slideshow because if it isn't a visual or if you aren't writing out the rationale of a practice problem, it may take too much time to write out the sentences you are teaching about hormones (such as what the hormones do and the action of the pituitary). This would also help to display more information about what you're teaching. Annotating on the slideshow (such as when you pointed to the axon) was also a good idea to supplement your teaching and draw attention to the specific part of the slide you're directly talking about at a given point. Overall, excellent job incorporating multiple types of teaching (whiteboard, slideshow, etc) into your session!

There is no need to check prior knowledge as the learner was just asked help for a history assignment. You also do great in adapting to the learners unique needs as the learner asks for help on problems that she is having trouble with, so then you are able to adapt and explain to her how to solve the problem. You also continously engage the learner by talking with her throughout the session which is great; for example one thing I like that you did was asking the learner if they got everything that you were saying at ~16:55. At the end you could try asking the learner about if what you did helped, which would confirm their progress. Overall, you did a great job in the session.

Great job clarifying what the learner knew already and didn't know about the brain and hormones. Also, it was great that although you were directly teaching from a slideshow, it was more of a discussion-based lecture where the learner was able to ask questions frequently and a discussion about the concept could be had. This absolutely helped to promote active learning and participation. You also did a good job with switching topics and providing additional information when the learners indicated that they were interested in learning more specific information about a certain topic, such as dopamine, for example. It was clear that the learners appreciated the session and not only learned a lot, but enjoyed learning about this topic, so great job!
