Nishita is amazing at DECA—I 110% recommend her. She taught me so many things I wish I had known about four years ago.

Nishita is the best for DECA! She teaches you everything you need to know! She lets you in on the DECA secrets that your schools wouldn't even teach you! I got a lot of insight and information from this. She helped me practice doing a roleplay and showed me tips and tricks on how to be successful in it. She is the best! She is so helpful. She is an excellent tutor for DECA. Would definitely recommend, 10/10!

You clearly came into the session with structure and a wide range of resources. You guided new students through DECA basics, shared detailed event breakdowns, and even linked tools (flashcards, study guides, KnowIt, Quizlet). I also liked how you used her personal experiences (competitions, leadership campaigns, startup work) to ground the session in real-world examples.

You demonstrated strong empathy and understanding throughout the session. The initial discussion about DECA helped the learner feel comfortable and opened up space for them to share their challenges, especially about their exam experience. This showed that the tutor was attentive to the learner’s struggles and willing to connect on a personal level. Additionally, the tutor adapted well to the learner’s needs—for example, by walking them through the documents clearly and guiding them step-by-step, even cautioning them about which links not to click. This kind of support showed an awareness of the learner’s comfort level and helped ensure they did not feel overwhelmed. Overall, the tutor’s empathetic approach and ability to adjust based on the learner’s situation worked very well.

Nishita is one of the smartest people I have met. She taught me how to rethink DECA and for that I will always be thankful!

Relating DECA to students’ personal goals (law, pre-med, business). Sharing your own vulnerabilities and motivations (e.g., joining DECA to prove herself to an ex, struggles with AP overload). Validating students (“That’s so cool”, etc). Offering personal support (help with essays, LinkedIn networking, involvement in her startup).
