The tutor was using the annotate tool to help learners focus. The tutor was also being friendly and constantly interacting with the learners so that the session doesn't become boring. The tutor also asks learners to explain their answers.

Great job encouraging questions (makes them normal, understands topic is hard, and gives time to wait for questions)! Answered questions patiently. Checks in -- "does that make sense?" Really nice job providing practice problems that gave learners a chance to show their progress and check their understanding independently.

The introduction created a very comfortable envionoment, introducing names while also making learners feel comfortable if they want to wait until later to share more about themselves. Also spent time getting to know them and what they would want to work on in the future, which was great!
