Hey! I'm Lian, a current microbiology major, and I'm hosting this series to give you a tour of one of my favorite sub-topics in microbiology: infectious diseases and pathogens! Every session, we will briefly explore two different regions of the world through the lens of their notable (endemic) pathogen. We'll cover each type of pathogen, some important biological characteristics, history of their subsequent diseases, and why they are geographically endemic. If you're looking for some quick learning this summer, whether you're interested in microbiology, general biology, or science at large, then give this series a try!
