General discussion of college and some parts of the admissions process from a tutor (1st year college student) in both The Essay and The Application. NOT a college admissions expert, just willing to share my personal experience from going through the college process and tutoring college workshop series.

This College Admissions Workshop on The Essay is a virtual 4-week workshop designed to provide you with structure and support to write your college essays this summer. In this workshop, you will: - Learn the purpose and the must-dos of the personal statement - Learn and practice strategies for picking a prompt, brainstorming, drafting, and revising your writing - Understand the role of supplemental questions and strategies for organizing your questions and responses - Work alongside other students who are also preparing to apply to college. As part of an expanded cohort of up to 30 students, you'll benefit from diverse perspectives and collaborative learning opportunities throughout the workshop. This larger group setting allows for rich discussions and peer feedback sessions, while still ensuring you receive the guidance needed to develop your materials. You'll build connections with fellow college-bound students who can offer support and encouragement during this important journey.

This College Admissions Workshop on The Application is a virtual 2-week workshop that will provide you with information and support to submit your college applications. In this workshop, you will: - Learn the purpose of each part of the application - Understand how and when to apply and strategies to consider when making your plan - Complete drafts of frequently required parts of the application, such as lists of activities & experiences, and honors & awards - Work alongside other students who are also preparing to apply to college.

Each week we will go over key topics based on the Khan Academy guide for the digital reading and writing section of the SAT. I will assign practice questions and be going over answers using practice tests.
