1 Series

AP Calculus AB Study Group

    Ended Fri, May 27, 2022

Each week, we will go over new topics in the AP Calculus AB curriculum. I will either teach the topic or work through/provide example problems for us to work on together, depending on how far along students already are. Be sure to bring a paper and pencil to follow along! (Note that more sessions will be added as time goes on)

Integration and accumulation of change

This session will either be an introduction to Integrals (including what they mean geometrically as well as how to calculate them algebraically) or a problem-solving session, depending on where students are already at.

Polynomial graphs

We will go everything related to polynomial graphs including finding zeros, plotting functions, and mapping graphs to functions. I will go over examples with the class, and you can choose what specific things we will go over.

Differential equations

We will go over a bunch of practice problems about solving differential equations- First you try, then I'll walk over the solution. You can also ask any questions you have about the topic. It should be good review!

Parametric equations, polar coordinates, and vector-valued functions

This session can be basically anything you want from this unit. We will probably be working a bunch of practice problems (so make sure to bring some scratch paper!), but I can also do anything else you ask for if it pertains to this unit. Should be good prep for the upcoming test!

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

This session can be whatever you need; just make sure to bring a pencil and paper to work out examples! We can work example problems from anything on this topic (chain rule, implicit differentiation, etc) if you already have an idea of how to do them, or I can go through a presentation explaining the steps if you are interested in that. If you have any specific questions, that is also great.

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

We will go over the chain rule, implicit differentiation, and differentiating inverse functions (including inverse trigonometric functions) and go over a few example problems. I will also answer any questions you have about these topics. Make sure to bring something to write with so you can attempt some problems on your own throughout the session!
