I liked how I wa able to write down the materials we were learning. That really helped get it baked in my head rather than just listening.

This session was very helpful. I especially thought it was a good idea to practice teaching an example to a class.

Thank you so much for the session! It really helped me get a better grasp on how to teach and be a good tutor.

You created a fundamentally comfortable space. Your tone was patient and friendly, especially when the learner made a mistake with the like terms. You used positive language and avoided any signs of frustration, which ensured the learner didn't shut down. This base level of comfort allowed them to persevere and ultimately solve the problem.

Kaavya, I saw that you had friendly interactions with your learners. Moreover, the fact that you had a session to introduce yourselves and for your learners to introduce themselves already sets a comfortable and amiable learning environment for them. By asking learners to introduce themselves, you showed your interest in them. Great job!

She made sure I understood everything, and was really patient! I really enjoyed being in the session, and I learned a lot!

Your conversational tone makes the session more comfortable for the learner which lets the learner use their mic which is very good. You make the learner safe through your thorough explanations and you make sure that the learner is comfortable, especially through your technical issues.

It was great how you explain how explained how if two lines are parallel the system has no solution (inconsistent) and them you went on to explain how one line would be consistent and dependent because it has infinitely many solutions and consistently independent for two lines that intersect once. It was awesome how you explained the why behind the answer. Nice job on coming up with an example for solving systems of equations algebraically and writing out the steps. Also, I liked how you used the chat to write out some of the steps that Soltani was getting confused on, but since Soltani seemed to still be confused I think maybe going through the steps of problem on a whiteboard could have been helpful.

The tutor excelled at encouraging the learner to explain their reasoning. When the learner stated the first step was to distribute the 2, the tutor immediately followed up with, "Perfect. In your own words, can you tell me why we need to do that?" This simple but powerful question pushed the student beyond procedural recall into articulating the conceptual foundation of the step. This technique was used multiple times, consistently reinforcing the "why" behind the "what."
