About

I have created a comprehensive curriculum for HONORS Algebra II, and this 6-week course will cover this subject thoroughly. Over this period of time, we will be covering the following:

Week 1: Advanced Polynomial & Quadratics
-Advanced factoring techniques (including grouping & complex cases)
-Solve equations by factoring (non-trivial forms)
-Quadratic equations (completing the square, quadratic formula review with derivations)
-Quadratic functions (vertex form, transformations, modeling)
-Polynomials and polynomial functions
-End behavior
-Multiplicity of zeros
-Graph behavior analysis
-Systems of nonlinear equations (linear–quadratic, quadratic–quadratic)

Week 2: Rational Functions & Expressions
-Rational expressions (complex rational expressions, restrictions)
-Advanced factoring (applied to rational simplification)
-Rational equations and inequalities
-Graphing Rational Functions

Week 3: Radical & Complex Number Systems
-Radical expressions (rational exponents emphasized)
-Radical equations and inequalities (extraneous solutions)
-Radical functions (transformations & domain restrictions)
-Complex numbers

Week 4: Exponential & Logarithmic Functions
-Exponential equations and functions
-Growth/decay modeling
-Logarithmic equations and functions
-Properties of logs
-Solving exponential equations using logs

Week 5: Conic Sections
-Circles
-Parabolas (coordinate form)
-Ellipses
-Hyperbolas

Week 6: Sequences, Series & Advanced Systems
-Sequences and series
-Arithmetic & geometric sequences
-Explicit vs recursive formulas
-Finite geometric series
-Mixed problems review (Rational + exponential, log + quadratic, polynomial + complex)

I will be going over the topics above, explaining them thoroughly, and then providing and working through practice problems. I will also be assigning homework, which will be due by the start of the next session!

View Profile

I'm a junior (in high school) from New Jersey looking to help tutees with any schoolwork. I'm passionate about subjects such as biomedical engineering and physics, as well as Algebra 2 and Precalculus, and I'm hoping to spread this affinity with others! My hobbies include playing soccer, talking with friends, and going to the mall.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

I expect everyone who signs up to show up regularly. Failure to do so results in removal from the series. If you're unable to join a session, please let me know in advance so we can schedule a make-up session.
