The tutor did a great job checking in with students throughout the session and responding thoughtfully to their needs. When one learner mentioned her network cut out and she didn’t understand the task the tutor immediately paused and explained the activity again in a friendly and nonjudgmental way. She also adapted the activity structure based on student comfort for example allowing them to choose their own prompt instead of assigning one. Later in the session she asked if students preferred weekly or biweekly meetings and whether they wanted their writing reviewed in front of everyone or privately. This showed strong flexibility and care for individual preferences. One minor suggestion for growth would be to build in a quick verbal check-in mid-lesson just to make sure no one is lost before moving forward.

The tutor did an excellent job creating space for students to share and participate. She consistently invited input both verbally and in the chat responded to each answer with encouragement and praise and built on students' responses. During the “school is stressful” writing practice and the “show don’t tell” activity she celebrated every student's answer and pushed them to think deeper with follow-up prompts. Her flexibility letting students choose which prompt to respond to also made the session feel more learner-centered. If anything she could improve by asking why a student chose to phrase something a certain way to encourage more reflection but overall she strongly encouraged participation and built a supportive environment.

The tutor was incredibly positive and encouraging throughout the session which really helped build student confidence. She gave very specific praise like “that’s amazing” or “I really like how you mentioned that” and took time to validate each student’s response no matter how simple. This kind of feedback makes students feel heard and appreciated. She also created a warm and welcoming space by starting with icebreakers and giving everyone multiple ways to participate either out loud or through the chat. Her tone was calm and friendly and she made sure no one felt pressured to speak if they weren’t comfortable. Everything about the environment made it feel safe supportive and easy to engage.

The tutor did a great job structuring the session clearly and professionally. She opened with a warm welcome and followed a well-planned flow that introduced writing types, walked through foundational concepts like thesis writing, and ended with interactive activities. Her pacing was thoughtful and she asked questions along the way to make sure students were comfortable and engaged. What stood out was how she scaffolded instruction by starting general and offering clear definitions and examples. The breakdown of persuasive versus narrative versus descriptive writing was especially well done. The slides supported the material well and her explanations were detailed without being overwhelming. One small area to improve might be trimming some explanations to leave more time for additional examples or questions but overall the session was super strong.

I actually loved how she gave suggestions for context and for word transition, she actually cleared up alot of my worries on that part. I would love for another follow up meeting once I edit the draft!
